Michael Berger
New York based photographer specializing in art, documentary photography, and photographic montage. Owner of a graphics production studio serving the presentation needs of agencies, producers, and corporations. He has worked with the International Center of Photography, Kodak Professional Services, Canon, ASMP, PDN and the Parsons School of Design, photographing and presenting the works of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Sebastião Salgado, Jr., Gordon Parks, Hans Neleman, Arnold Newman, Cindy Sherman, Barbara Bordnick, Bruce Weber and Howard Chapnick. With Richard Avedon he designed, photographed, and staged several career retrospective multi screen presentations in Europe.

Michael Berger began the Times Square Photo Project in 1997. The current archive has about 10,000 images. The work has been shot on film and digitally. Initially conceived as a photographic interpretation of the transition of West 42nd Street between 7th & 8th Avenues from demolition to reconstruction, it soon evolved to cover the entire Times Square area.

Subjects of other photographic projects have included Coney Island, Rockaway Beach, and the Arizona/California desert.

His work has appeared in museums, as editorial content in newspapers and magazines, advertisements, video presentations, on the web and on large video screens in public spaces. A permanent installation is on display at the ABC Good Morning America Studios in Times Square.

Corporate clients have included IBM, Mattel, A&E Networks, Discovery Networks, American Express, Condé Nast, NBC Universal and Disney.
